Ayusai waterfall

Want to head into the mountains without a grueling, all-day hike? The first Ayusai waterfall is the perfect escape. 🌲
It’s just a 15-20 minute walk from the visit center (about 700m). The trail is super easy, yet the views are gorgeous. You get the soothing sound of rushing water, moss-covered cliffs, and crisp air that instantly saves you from the city heat.
Quick tips for a smooth trip:
Footwear: The rocks right by the waterfall are damp and slippery. Ditch the flat-soled shoes and wear sneakers with decent grip.
Getting there: It’s less than an hour's drive from central Almaty. Easily accessible by taxi or the 211 bus.
Bonus: If you feel adventurous, you can hike up further to the 2nd and 3rd waterfalls. But for a relaxed day, Ayusai 1 is more than enough!
